Stress Management: Resources and Research
This section of the website covers resources and research related to stress management and includes information resources I've produced.
Because stress is seen now as the most important (and costly!) risk to health and wellbeing at work, there has been a lot of publicly funded research in this area (certainly in the UK and Europe). Many excellent resources, including reports have been produced.
One output of this work of course has been the development of tools and applications - check out the tools section of the website if you're specifically looking for stress tools. This section focuses more specifically on informational resources, such as research papers and published reports.

- The 10 Best Tools for Preventing Stress at Work. This is a list of my favourite stress management tools, which I compiled and spoke on at a recent conference. It includes two tools I have recently developed: a Stress Management Best Practice Checklist Tool for line managers and a Pressurised Situation Profiling Tool.
- Quality of Working Life (QoWL) Tools and Resources. These tools and resources were developed by psychologists at the University of Portsmouth for measuring and benchmarking Quality of Working Life (or QoWL for short). The main tool is a psychometric (survey) tool called the Work-Related Quality of Life Scale.
- Survey tools and other resources for assessing stress risks at work. This includes tools related to the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Management Standards and Work Positive (a free stress/wellbeing assessment tool developed in Scotland)
